Barack Obama - 44th president of the United States-

On the 4th of Novermber 2008, history was made! The book of history flips to its new page as the day breaks dawn. As milllions of people around the world await anxiously, the news that aesthetic the world but yet leaving millions wondering came - Barack Obama was elected the 44th president of the United States in an unexpected landslide election.

Being the first African American in 200 + years since Thomas Jefferson first drafted the Declaration of Independence, Obama brought hope to the American by holding his campaign's theme - Change

Having a seemingly comparable experience only to Sarah Palin, Republican Vice President nominee, Obama has shown a more commanding leadership skill and charismatic compared to a person who has served the country for over 50 years - John McCain

John McCain, no doubt has shown patriotism for the United States, but the US do not need a president who finished 2nd from the bottom of a class of 600 person and crashed 2 planes during his military practice only to get away from getting sack from the camp because of the reputation of his grandfather and father.
On the other hand, Obama, coming from a poor family without his father, graduated from Harvard with a honors in Law practice. He was offered high paid jobs in the Wall Street but he declined because he know he has a bigger goal to achieve, that is to be the next president of the United States. Walking up to the chairman of Democratic party, Obama, in one fine day, said " if you are looking for a person to be the next president of the United States, i am the one"

Having basically nothing to start off with, he was faced with Hillary Clinton in the primary election. Hillary Clinton was well known because of her husband, Bill Clinton, and have all the fortune to stack up well over that of Obama.
Obama, however, have to run the campaign by setting up his website in which hoping that his fans would donate money to his campaign. Being a charismatic speaker, he, of course has win the heart of most of the people and thus helping him in winning Hillary Clinton in a tight Democratic race.

He is one step closer to achieving his dream but yet, far fetched from a good night sleep. He was faced with McCain who was expected to win most of the southern state's vote. However, McCain was faced with a thousand pound burden - George W. Bush!!
He is always being associated with Bush, who has turned United State's surplus into a multi billion dollar deficit.
After many advertisement, endorsement, debates, the eve of the election is here. I was fortunate enough to be able to witness the final speeches of both presidential candidate. Campaigning non stop from 7am until the time i go to the bed, it is undoubt a living hell for both the candidate.
"From the rocky mountain Maine to the sunshine California, we have endured 21 months of campaigning." as Obama speaks in his speech, " when we first started with nothing, we know the slope is steep and the walk is hard, i will have one word for you all..... TOMORROW (crowd cheersss), tomorrow you can turn the page on policies that put the irresponsibility of Walstreet before the hard work and sacrifice of man and women across Mainstreet........"

On the morning of the eve of election, however, Obama's grandmother, who basically took care of Obama since young passed away after a long battle with cancer. But when he steped up on the stage, when the election results shown him to be the winner of the presidential race, he did not shown a sense of self deprive or depression because he know he has a more important part to play - to bring America to a new direction, one that will benefit the world. In his acceptance speech, he say " Although no longer with us, I know my grandmother will be looking at me and i miss her tonight...."

However, a lot of hatred was brought by older white mens towards Obama as they are not ready to allow a black, who once was thought to be only as slaves, to lead the most powerful country in the world. When Obama spoke of McCain in his acceptance speech, the crowd cheers but when McCain spoke of Obama in his speech to congratulate Obama, the crowd "Boo".
A lot of rumors now speculate that Obama might be assasinate before Jan 20 of 2009 and that Obama is an Anti- Christ who will bring the end to the world according to the scripture Revelation. Who is right and who is wrong, the answer is still nowhere to be seen. As to is Obama the "one" who will bring the world to a new direction, only the future will be the best answer to it. Let us keep an eye to the day when Obama and his family move into the White House. Nevertheless, the United States of America has it's new story to be told to the world.

And dont eat healthy, dont do good things, dont exercise, dont work (like the government), receive bribery because end of the day, you just need to pray!!! Thats what the government teach us!!!! How STUPID ARE THEY!!!! Dumb asssssses in the government!

Tomboys, Yoga...what next?

Coming soon: Fatwa on yoga

Oct 29, 08 4:08pm, Malaysiakini

The National Fatwa Council will be issuing a ruling soon relating to yoga exercise, which is deemed to be deviationist in nature for the Muslims.

An announcement on the matter is expected to be made soon by the fatwa council's chairperson Prof Dr Abdul Shukor Husin.

This was revealed by the deputy director-general of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) Othman Mustapha, reported Bernama today.

Yesterday, UKM lecturer Prof Zakaria Stapa advised Muslims who have taken up yoga - a widely popular exercise which has its roots to India and Hinduism - to stop practising it for fear that it could deviate them from their belief.

"Yoga originated from the Hindu community and it combines spiritual as well as their religious aspects. They believe it brings them closer to their god," he was reported as saying in Berita Harian today.

Zakaria was reported to have said that more Muslims were resorting to yoga exercise to find a balance in their hectic lifestyle.

He added that they should instead apply the Islamic teachings such as prayers to find peace and good health.

"If the Muslims want a healthy body, prayers are the right choice... why must we find alternate ways... a single mistake can deviate our teachings as yoga movements follow the style and tradition of Hinduism," he was reported as saying.

Ban on tomboys

The perils of yoga to the Muslims is learnt to have been discussed at the recently held fatwa council meeting in Kota Baru, Kelantan.

At the fatwa council meeting, the religious scholars have also decided to issue a fatwa against females from dressing or behaving like men and engaging in lesbian sex.

Council chairperson Abdul Shukor had said that many young women admired the way men dress, behave and socialise, violating human nature and denying their feminity.

"It is unacceptable to see women who love the male lifestyle including dressing in the clothes men wear," Abdul Shukor was quoted as saying.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm just waiting for the National Fatwa Council to come out with fatwas against corruption, violence against women, cheating etc. Instead they have these.

Do they know anything about yoga or is this a classic case of reacting out of fear and ignorance? Yoga may have spiritual roots but most of us do it for the exercise, both for the mind and body. It helps you to focus and in fact helps you to focus when you do your prayers. The one thing it does not do is make you want to beat up anyone, call people nasty names or issue fatwas on things you don't understand.

If prayers are the only thing you need to be healthy, why are there so many unhealthy Muslims? Is this an indication that they don't pray? If all you need do is pray, why do sports or eat healthily?

If they have ever found any Muslim who has converted out solely because of yoga, they should produce evidence instead of speculating on the 'weakness' of our faith. If it is 'weak' at all, it is because people like the Fatwa Council have done nothing to make it strong, constantly weakening it through fear and ignorance.

And what is this thing about 'dressing in clothes men wear'? If I wear a pantsuit (which incidentally covers very well), am I dressing like a man? If I cut my hair short because it is easier to upkeep, is that forbidden? Will we now have the Fatwa Council scan the fashion magazines and make rulings about which clothes are 'masculine' and which are 'feminine'? (And what is there to admire about 'the male lifestyle' when males are represented by the men on the Fatwa Council?)

I know, I know...someone is going to tell me to shut up because apparently I don't know my religion. Well, that is a matter of opinion. The Islam that I believe in is just and fair, is compassionate, loving and peaceful.Someone tell me that's the wrong Islam.

Homecoming (belated post)

OSU ' s homecoming is the biggest in the whole nation. We get to experience it last week friday and saturday and it was an awesome event. Homecoming, if i ask anyone here what is the purpose and meaning of it, the answer will go like this : "Homecoming .... is a custom and culture of the US... we do it every year.... to celebrate........urmm........ celebrate the football season in US. We just have FUN... "

Conclusion: there is no meaning and purpose of it actually, just an excuse to have everyone out from their home and have Fun!!!!

So went up for the walkabout as they called it but actually it is just like a "pasar malam" on friday night. This is the first time i have seen so many people coming out all together on one street. We walked for about 2 hours and i found myself craving for food so i bought a 3 bucks corn and continue walking.

Photos on the walkabout are on my facebook account http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=43662&id=635231452

Photos wasnt that clear due to the bad performance of my camera. :(

Then the corn didnt did any good to my stomach so i decided to get something that worth 5 dollar (the money left in my wallet)... and my eyes set upon TURKEY LEG and this is what i get :

It took me and my friend 1 hour to finish it.. haha

The next day we woke up early for the homecoming parade which will be hold off campus. It's a half an hour bike journey there. I thought i saw everyone out from their home the night before but i was wrong. The crowd was twice the night before!!! Even one of the senator candidate came to look at the parade. Photos are on facebook too : http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=43664&id=635231452
Taken a lot of photos on that day

Some of the photos taken:

The one with a Cowboy hat is our school Mascot called PETE. check out that he captured a bear which is the mascot of the school that we are going to play few hours later. pity bear.. lol

Horses again.... with me again too... lol

The parade lasted for roughly 1 hour and Henry and i were deciding what to cook later but suddenly the restaurant NEW CHINA popped up in front of us! Henry said the food in NEW CHINA, which is a buffet restaurant is awesome so biasa lar guys... think of cooking also sien.... so we drop by there to take our Brunch!!
It is the bestest meal i ever took in my whole stay in Stillwater! They have chinese foods (mainly), pizzas, japaneses foods, deserts, italian food, fruits..

As i was so curious i calculated how many dishes are there and it turn out to be 90 of them! feels like a King on that day! haha..

and what the hell it only cost 8 dollars!!

I wasnt that hungry until i actually saw those food.

First round....

Second round...

Third round...
Fourth round...
Whats a meal without fruits?? :)

This is the heaven of food...
Look at my stupid face! damn full...lol. Took 1 and a half hour to finish them ..

Cycling back after that meal was the stupidest thing to do and we did. lol...
Took this meal at 12 pm and did not feel hungry until 9pm. :P lame ...
Anyway OSU won the football game on that day 27-6. Congrats congrats!! :)

My Laptop is BACK!

People may wonder what my display name on msn (laptop kena makan by bugs) means . It meant what it meant, literally because my laptop was infected with viruses and i was forced to sent it to the OSU IT service center. To my surprise they didnt charge me anything because it is one of the services Resident Life in OSU offers. So was kinda cool except that i was required to buy windows XP professional CD for them to reformat my laptop and the disk only costed 7.50 dollars!! :P Good deal. My laptop is now being BAPTIZED and REBORN!! wahahahaha....

Anyway went to Duncan Oklahoma Halliburton technology and manufacturing site last friday as was stated in my previous post and it was a blast! Get exposed to a lot of really cool engineer's stuffs. Feeling proud to be part of them.
The journey was slightly over 2 hours and i was the co-driver for Dr Thompson and so was required to look at the map and show the route to take. The journey was like one that never ends. The road is straight and the sight around?? I will show you... and you shall experience it yourself. haha.. Furthermore i pretty much needed to be awake all the time to ensure that we are on the right track. Fortunately and unfortunately(to some extent) Dr Thompson is a GREAT SPEAKER. When i asked him about some little thing that i saw on the way, he would explain the entire US history to me and my friend behind asked me secretly after the trip :" HOW THE HELL CAN YOU GUYS KEEP TALKING TALKING TALKING NON-STOP?"

Answer: You think i want meh? What to do?
Anyway here are the photos of our journey to Halliburton:
After 10 minutes of drive
After another 10 minutes
Another 10 minutes
1 hour passed.....

2 hour passed....

After another 10 minutes
then 10 more minutes passed
walao.....
where got end oh like that???

However, we manage to survive the drive and got to Halliburton successfully! yay! lolx.

The technology center
The manufacturing center..

Halliburton is mainly an upstream oil drilling company. They have roughly 55000 employess around the world with one of them located in Johor Bahru. What they do is they supply the equipments and workmanship to companies like Petronas, Shell and other multinational petroleum company to extract the crude oil from thousands of feet under the ground.

Imagine, they drill holes with a 1 feet diameter high technology pipe and cement the surrounding while they drill. Just like that, they are able to drill it thousands of feet under the earth. The deepest they ever drill is 35000 feet below the earth. Imagine, when i came to US, the plane was flying around 30000 feet about sea level and thinking about going that deep into the earth? Only Halliburton and Exxon Mobil can do that. and of course, they need ENGINEERRSSSS!! wahahaha...

We were not allowed to bring any cameras into their manufacturing and technology center because it is like their TOP SECRET stuffs. But it is a good experience there. There's two very cool stuffs that we saw them perform in the technology area. The first is the way they resolve the water that they suck out from the underground from being contaminated with sands.
First, they let us see the sand mixed with water in which the water were kinda contaminated with all the small dust of the sand. Then they mix a chemical and after they shake it, the water is clear. All the sands sink without making the water looks contaminated. Then to further enhance it, they mix another chemical, and shake it, the sand and water went to form a gummy ball. They stick all together and the water is like a rubber ball with all the sand inside of it. What the hell man. They said they engineered the polymers and structure of the water and sand to make it like that. ENGINEERSS.....Impressive. hahaha
It is like the picture above but the difference is, it is translucent with sands literally inside of it. How cool is it.

The next impressive thing is on the cement. How they make the cement to work like how they want it to be when it is underground. First, it is just a normal mixture of cement that is viscous and resisted to flow. Once a chemical were added, the cement became just like the pipe water, seriously. This is to allow the cement to flow faster as it flows down the pipe. Then, add another chemicaL? The cement harden in 2 seconds and he could not open the container anymore because it is fully cement-ed. Crazy engineerss...

We were then treated to a lunch at their canteen and then were brought to the manufacturing department. Btw, did i say how big is the whole site? It is like 3 or 4 golf courses size tentatively.

In the manufacturing part, it is where mechanical engineers (me) will be more interested in. We were introduced to all the history of Halliburton and then the real amazement began. As the door opened, we were required to get our safety glasses on all the time and WOW! is all we can grasp upon.

There are all kinds of machineries inside and all the big trucks that they uses for the drilling. I could not forget how huge one of the truck is. Imagine, looking two storey high, 2 car size wide and probably 50 feet long truck in front of you. WOW WOW WOW!! ...

There is one stop where we visited the device they used to cut small tolerance parts by using LASER! like the one in the star war LASER! They can make all kinda of things just by programming the computer and press the start button and it will do its job all by its own.
Lasers that we saw except that it was computer operating..
Imagine, technology will one day takes over the human world. deng deng deng deng.... :P

It was too much to be blogged during our 6 hours visit there so i am not going to elaborate every single detail about it but we managed to take a photo with out coordinator that brought us around when we were there and they also gave us a bag of Halliburton's souvenir.

Us with the Halliburton alumni along with 4 other engineeering students (non-Halliburton scholars)
Yu Jun and i at the half way hut. Super smart guy thou looks playful . lolx

That practically wraps up my day and week. ( i guess...)
At least now you get a view on how ULU this place is and i will be stucked here for the nect 2 years.. OH NO!!

Photos..

When i finally uploaded all the photos and were about to publish them on my blog! Suddenly! my laptop caught virus and files were infected and i was shown to an anti virus software page which requires me to buy their product. Of course, i tried to ignore it but could not find any ways to close the windows. Without wasting a second, i shut down my laptop! And that was the last time i ever saw my desktop background again.... Luckily these photos were auto saved in my blog.
It was such a rough weekends without my laptop and it seems like lots of the other things followed to turn sour for example, my handphone i brought from Malaysia which i uses for my alarm clock refused to charge and it died off from low batt, out toilet's sink stuck with water, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.... Ok Ok .. Not that much but still its bad.:(
Anyway, dont let those things affect the mood in viewing these photos below! :) Enjoy...

Birthday Boy with Wun Wun from China
TADA! Finally the answer revealed! It is a love doll....:P Anyone guessed it right?

He likes it...???:P

This is the dinner i cooked for Henry. Took him more than an hour to finish them. haha

The 2 christian t shirt that we bought! This is funny.. I hang these two cloths on the hanger outside but the strong wind keep puffing them down on the field so with much desperation for shirt clipper, i used the clips that were on one of the old folder to clipped them and it works out perfect! wahahaah... Creativity + Desperation = Innovation.. :P

Saturday again..

It is like in a blink of an eye that another week has passed. Today , as in my saturday (lolx) we decided to go to Walmart to get some winter clothing and some household stuffs. Again, we spended 180 dollars but this time more on clothing. I bought one cool christian t shirt i guess and 2 track suit along with another winter jacket. Kinda love my room now since everything is getting settle down with all my new belongings. Anyway, didnt have any plans for the weekend and figure it would be another boring weekends and the beginning of another few weeks of test. However, there is this one day Fall break (lame) on this friday which i am really looking forward to because all 4 of the Halliburton scholarship holder will be going down to Duncan, Oklahoma to visit one of the Halliburton site and i guess it would be really fun. It is like a 3 hours drive down and we will move out from here at around 6 or 7 am and will not be back until late evening. So it's gonna be fun fun fun...:)

By the way, guess it is time to reveal the present of Henry now. The photos will be uploaded in a minute. Behold.... and you shall receive. :P haha

Henry's birthday!

It was Henry's birthday yesterday! When the clock strikes 12, i opened our house door and there were out friends waiting to give him a surprise party! Thou he is NOT THAT SURPRISE, it was indeed a good party and 3 of us, Jason, Teon and i gave him a present which we bought from OKC. Curious to know what it is? Its a secret...haha. I will upload it in my next few posts and let you guys have a look. It would laugh your ass off! Give you a clue, it is his 21th birthday. It is to signify that he is an adult and his girlfriend is in Singapore. Too far away for him............. Get it now? haha...

Anyway, on the night before his birthday ends, i cook a super good and delicious meal for him! Udon MEE!! with eggs, seafood, sausages, cabbage, mushrooms. He took an hour to finish that meal because it is too good. He didnt want to finish it so fast....lolx...

Then today we had an international expo at the library lawn where students from their own countries sell their country's specialties and we, as a Malaysian sold NASI LEMAK and BUBBLE TEA. Each nasi lemak, with fried chicken and spring roll COSTS USD 7.OO! haha... What the heck!
Of course, I as a malaysian, who loves malaysia so much and am such a patriotic citizen............did not buy it! haha.. Instead i bought African food that costed me USD 6. Nasi Lemak i can get it for 1 ringgit in Malaysia! Why buy it from US??:p haha..
Then henry and I had some vietnam food as well. They are good when coupled with thailand tea. wuahahahaa..... Jealous?? :P

Today, 1st of October, the starting of the month, also signifies the end of my aircond. As october is expected to turn cold, we decided to terminate the aircond service starting this month. In the afternoon when temperature was about 30 degree, it was kinda warm in the house. But in the morning and night when temperature is about 10 degree, it is just nice. As the weather now is changing to winter, it varies significantly with high like 30 degree and low like 8 degree. So got to prepare some jackets whenever i am out there.

Its time for me to have my dinner. Kudos people and take care.

Signing out.....

Its WEEKEND!!

Yeah! Its saturday! A typical saturday where i could finally find some time to BLOGGGG..lol. Last 2 weeks was my tests week so i was really busy and also because of my stupidity for taking 6 darn subjects! :P

Anyway, last Tuesday the church that i went to, Calvary Assembly of God held an international student gathering thingy where there's free food! Whenever there are free food, my presence will be there. :P and the best thing was, the pastor said :" because if we held it somewhere, you might not come. So instead we come to your house!" True enough, the gathering was held on the field behind my home. So will there be any more excuse for not attending anymore although i have test the following 2 days??.:P But we ( Henry and i) did had some good time there. The food was great with pastor's HOLY DUST! His own secret recipe.. haha..
He is a very nice guy and the thing about him is although not knowing him for long, i felt like he is my old friend. Before the dinner he also told us that we were not bonded or anything. It is just a dinner for us, they does not want us to commit anything. That is what makes them different from other churches. By the way, guess i did not tell you this, this church has sunday school for children from 2 years old to old folks of 80 years old. About 8 classes each sunday for different categories and the service hall could accomodate 600 people minimum!! It is a very nice and huge church.
That's pastor Rusty and I
The best fruit platter i ever see :P
Cool scene!
There's light behind Pastor!!!! wow. Is that Jesus ?? :P HAHA. lame..

The house behind of them is where i stay

So that practically wraps up the day and i am back with my stack of books... Then on that particular thursday, i had a CEAT council meeting. We had some games and food prior to the meeting and on the meeting itself there was suppose to be a slide show to welcome all the new members into the council because days before that i was asked to send a photo of mine and my information. So i send the coolest and best shot of me thinking that it would be shown in the slide show and girls will notice me. So as i anticipate for the slide show, suddenly.......... TADA!!!

WHAT THE HECK!!! haha.Everyone laugh like hell. All the new members has transformed to a much more MODERN look.:P I dont looks bad in this look dont i ?? honestly... haha..
So pretty much releases my stress when i look at this photo of me.:P

On Sunday, i went to the calvary church to have my sunday school and service. People there are friendly and nice. After church, an indian family, Uncle Abraham and Aunty Susan with their children fetched me and another indian friend back home. When we about to reach, he asked us :" Do you want to have lunch in our house?" WOW! i said of course!! FREE FOOD...haha.. Their house was located not near from our apartment. It was a typical american house with no fences and a garage. It was cool inside because they have a fire place and the side of the ceiling was lined with pure wood. They was wondering if i would like their indian food. But to be honest, I LOVE INDIAN FOOD! Aunt Susan cooked Nasi beriani and it was like heaven! It feels like home. Like what my mom used to cook at home. Urm.. "Nga Pou Gai Fan" / Clay pot chicken. It taste so alike and we also had the indian crackers. After the meal, we had some ice cream! Like expected, i took 4 plates of Nasi Beriani and the uncle and aunty was happy that i love their food. Hell! I would love to eat it everyday man! :P After that we talked for a while and without realizing it is already 4pm and Uncle Abraham took us back home. They are a great family and that really touches my heart. And as usual for the rest of the day, ASSIGNMENTsss....

The next day, there was this International Olympics table tennis tournament in which i actually participated thinking that i might give them some challenge. When i got there at 6pm i was shocked to see Indian, Korean, Vietnamiese all playing with the standard i figure higher than me! So my first match was against Korea player B. After waiting for 10 minutes, the judge declare i am the winner because he did not show up! lol. With that win, i have the privilege to gets bye that means i am in Semi final already! what the hell! So i waited and practice with my other friends until the other player has compete among themselve in such a brutal and tiring way until the other top players emerged! I get to play finally but it was already 9pm. haha. First opponent was a guy from INDIA! i won the first set and lost the other 2 in a shameful manner. :P Then i have another match up against another indian to fight for the third place. Seeing him play prior to the game makes me feel like i would never beat him. However, i manage to beat him 2 game straight and yeah! I won Malaysia a Bronze! It was a great cheer from my supporters from Malaysia because that was the only medal we manage to obtain in table tennis....wahahaha....

This Korean Uncle is super good. Won 3 times in the row but lost to a indian guy this year. lol
My teammate(Timothy) for men's double which we lost in the first round.

Competition ring..

Nothing special for the next few days than another test until......THURSDAY! The biggest thing ever happened to me since i came here : i found transport to the nearby golf course! wow!
The previous friday i was met with a guy named Justin at the Colvin center. He is a keen golfer but was a beginner so we talk a little and finally i approach him to teach him some skill because i saw he was struggling with his golf. After about an hour of guidance, he was hitting EVERY SINGLE BALL straight thou not far. But that was a massive improvement from where he was before that. Then i found out that he actually owns a car and without wasting a second we exchanged phone number and he told me he is happy to call me whenever he go to the golf course for range. Well, with me being so desperate to go to the golf course, i dont mind giving him free golf lesson! And on thursday we finally could vacuum some time out to get to the golf course. and i wont go without getting my camera with me!

It was a very very nice golf course called the Lakeview country Club. As the name suggested, there are a lot of lakes there and it is near a huge lake called the Boomer lake. When we got there it was 7pm and the range was close. However, he manage to get us a golf cart to go around the golf course instead. The scenery of each hole is so different and breathtaking.

Nice scene..bad camera.

The old-styled club house..
Justin with his crocs on the left and golf shoe on the right..

Justin and I
One of the many lakes..

I dont remember seeing anything alike this in any of Malaysia's golf course i have been to. At 8.00pm it was almost dark and we decided to finally get out of the place but not before we plan for another golf outing on Sunday which is TOMORROW AFTERNOON! Yeah!!! :)

Yesterday, friday was the most relaxing day of this week. Done with all my assignments and tests, we decided to go to Walmart to stock up on our food and buy some necessity for our home. We spend 190 dollar on that particular trip and i got myself a boxer! A sexy boxer! Check this out..
POWER UP! when i needed to power up... haha..

All Stocked up...

After Walmart we went to Colvin to work out until 12am and that practically call my day to an end with my body crying in tired-ness.

Anyway later Henry and i will be going to a Korean Baptist church international student gathering because there will be games and FREE food again and we can make some friends as well. I got to finish up some of my assignments now and go enjoy myself later! Take care everyone and God bless you always...

-Peacexx-
