Movie Review 2

Lol! All of the sudden, i remembered doing a movie review when i first started this blog so after 10 months, i'm ready to do another given that i've watched a lot of movies these days (there's no better things to do here) and also i dont know what to update on my blog in order to keep it alive!! I've watched Terminator Salvation, UP 3D, Night in the museum, Drag me to hell, Hangover, Transformer, Imagine That, and Taking of Pelham 123 in the cinema not to mention Fired Up, Street Fighters and others online. So, i'll be reviewing some new movies and keeping older ones behind. FYI, you can watch a lot of great movie on this website for free ( http://www.hd.openv.com/)

Review:
Story Line: 4/5
Entertainment: 5/5
Effects:3/5
Value for money: 4.5/5
Comments: Extremely great/hilarious/crazy movie of the summer. Definitely one of the best comedies i've ever watched. Not much of crazy effects but story line and the content of it is already worth all of your money to watch it. Highly recommended.

Story Line: 2.5/5
Entertainment: 4/5
Effects:5/5
Value for money: 4/5
Comments: 2 hours ++ long of super special effects and ultra awesome stuffs but end of the day, there's not much content/plot to it. It is one of those recommended movie where you watch it in the cinema for the sake of the sound systems and special effects. Other than that, nothing much. As one of the critics said: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a noisy, underplotted, and overlong special effects extravaganza that lacks a human touch.
And the main reason why Megan Fox is still in the movie is simply because she's smokin hot. Her acting skill? Tsk Tsk..Watch it and you know what i meant..

Story Line: 4/5
Entertainment: 4/5
Effects:3/5
Value for money: 3/5

Comments: Movies by Eddy Murphy is always good including this Nicklodeon production. Great story line and it's funny too but watching it in the cinema? Not much different than watching it on the TV or online. Definitely a good movie but not to the extent that you should rush to the cinema and watch it. Touching and meaningful movie thou.

Story Line: 4/5
Entertainment: 4/5
Effects:4/5
Value for money: 4/5

Comments: Great movie that will get your adrenaline running for sure. If you like action/suspence movie this will be yours. Good story line and good actor as well. Definitely worth watching (in cinema).

Story Line: 3/5
Entertainment: 3/5
Effects:4.5/5
Value for money: 3/5
Comments: I dont know if this movie was meant to be watched by teenagers as well or just for kids as i find it a little childish and the story line boring. However, it is not a bad movie thou. Just not as good, at least to me.

That's it for me. By the way, the summer here been pretty crazy. It gets bright at 6am and only gets dark at 9pm. Day time temperature can touch up to 40 C with little humidity, not that bad as you cant sweat as much. Internship has been great so far. Nothing much coming up until my final presentation in August then back to school! :) Cant Wait actually.. lol. Till then..

To the Editor of The Star : To make a mistake once is human, to make it twice is a fool

To the Editor of The Star,

I hereby refer to the column PAS: Stop Teaching Science and Math in English published Monday 8th of June 2009 and think that it is absolutely absurd. The government has made the best action of all time by changing the teaching of Science and Math to English, why return to what is wrong?

I am currently pursuing Mechanical Engineering Bachelor degree under a scholarship in Oklahoma State University, United States, in which I was made known how important English language is. I was fortunate enough to be born into an English-speaking family and was sent to Chinese Primary school and was enrolled in a Government Secondary School therefore could converse well in all 3 languages. However, I was among the last batch of students who was tangled with learning Science and Math in Bahasa Melayu. I did not find it to be problematic until I was in College when I needed to translate every Science and Math term to English, especially being a Mechanical Engineering major which has a strong emphasis on these subjects. Needless to say, it is a pain in the ass and a period of frustration given the transition from Secondary School to College is tough for a teenager. Could you then imagine the impact that it will do to a student who do not have a good English education background?

Besides, looking at the comment made by Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin that asserted the importance of English in everyday’s life, I do not see why we should not have Science and Math to be taught in English. I understand the importance of Bahasa Melayu in Malaysia and Indonesia, but without a good command of English language, how far can we (our country) go, in terms of development and economy? Just to illustrate, being a country of only the size of Kuala Lumpur, Singapore has shown such a great aura and established itself as one of the most developed country in the world, despite having none of the luxury in natural resources like Malaysia has. This is simply because the government focuses on the development of English as the core language. Not being sardonic to the Malaysia’s government, but being a graduate from United Kingdom with Double Starred First Class Honor, Lee Kuan Yew has the exposure to realize the importance of English as a medium of communication when he became the first Prime Minister of Singapore. I was thwarted and shocked when most of the counterparts/college mates that I talked to in the United States know where exactly Singapore is on the map but not knowing where Malaysia is.

To wrap things up, I would like to urge every citizen in Malaysia to appreciate our country, Malaysia, because I came to realized how wonderful our country is, with all the great food and people, only when I came to the States. Although the so-called democratic government does not always rule in a plausible manner, it is still our country. And to the government, do not add salt to the wound by having Science and Math taught in Bahasa Melayu anymore. Give and Take attitude should be adopted.

Hectic a.k.a Fun week

This week been pretty fun. Needless to say, i'm getting my head into my project and started working on it. For the first time, i brought my camera to my work place and took some photos for my presentation and of course for reference in this blog! LOL. Anyway on Wednesday, my colleague who is sitting in the cubicle beside me gave me a huge chunk of cookies which his wife have made. It was so good. The chocolate bites are huge and i have to say, it's comparable to Famous Amos, if not better. Then Thursday went for Wallyball (derived from Volleyball) after work. It is similar to Volleyball except you play in a squash court where you can bounce the ball on the wall. That is why WALLyball. LOL. Pretty fun but it hurts my hand so badly! Bruises everywhere but who cares man! Screw it! :)

Me and "Mountain Mover" aka Sand Truck

Me and the truck with huge Sand Tyre!

See how awesome the Sand Tyres are! lol

Truck that i'll be working with this summer. "Elite"

This is my lunch now. Make it everyday before work to save lots of money!

This is my little cubicle which i work in

Then on Friday, my friend, Justin flew in from Stillwater after work. At first i was figuring that he will be taking a commercial plane where he have a free ticket or something since he is one of the airport's officers. However, when he arrived, i waked my roommate, Tim to pick him up and found out that he actually rented a small plane and flew in to look for me, alone. How cool is that! Tim also managed to drive his car on the airport runway and we had a look at his plane and just check it out. (You can imagine how small this town is when you can drive your car on the airport runway) lol.

Then Tim and I went to Blockbuster to rent some DVD-s because one of my supervisors gave me a gift card of 10 dollars. We, initially planned to just spend that 10 dollars and that's it, but so happen they're having a summer promotion where with 15 dollars you can rent 2 dvd per time and unlimited times within one week which is a good deal since Tim wanted me to watch quite some Classic american movie in order to educate me better on American Culture. LOL. We rented Pink Panther the first series (made in 1964) and Wayne's World which is another classic movie. That night we watched both the movie after Justin flew back to Stillwater that evening. We watch from 10pm to about 2am and by the time we finish them, we're both pretty drunk. Tim treat me with his Vodka entire duration we're watching. I drank about 2-3 big cups of Vodka mixed fruit juice that's pretty good and 3 shots of Vodka (which is about a mouth full of pure Vodka) which knocked me out. Tim of course had much more than that! he's freaking crazy alcoholic! LOL. Just kidding.

Then yesterday we returned the 2 dvd and rented another 2 dvd-s that is The revenge of Pink Panther (1974) and Forest Gump ( which is the same story line by the same writer of Benjamin Button) and went to another store to rent another series or Pink Panther and it only costed 59 cents to rent for a week. We started watching Forest Gump first, once we reached home and Tim started cooking Potato Cabbage Beef, which is an Irish food. It smells so good but we cant eat it because it needs to be stew for 4-5 hours. We started cooking at 3pm and only get to eat it at 9pm!!(6 hours of stewing) It is so suffering having the scent filled the home while not be able to eat it! But when it is done, it was so good! With some Irish Whisky, RedBreast and Pink Panther, it was an awesome dinner cum movie night! By the way, we ended up watching 4 movies just yesterday alone. Forest Gump, Fired Up which we watched online, Revenge of Pink Panther and Return of Pink Panther! How awesome is life.. haha!

This is the Potato Cabbage Beef we had.

Anyway I just came back from church. Joined one of my colleague in Immanuel Baptist Church. Finally i found a church to go to in this place. :) Might be going out to rent another 2 series of Pink Panther since there're 11 series in total. Till then, Adios!
